Megan Burrows - Head Coach
Coach Megan is in her second year as head coach of the Polar Bears after serving as an assistant coach for three years. She is a 2008 graduate of Jackson High School. While at Jackson she was a four time District Qualifier and one time State Qualifier. She was also a team captain and member of the 2006 State Girls 200 Medley Relay team. After high school she attended Clarion University, where she was a captain of the swim team as well as a school record holder in the 800 free relay. Also while at Clarion, Megan was part of the 2011 NCAA Swimming Division 2, 4th place Girls Team and received All American honors for a 6th place 800 free relay. Megan graduated from Clarion in 2012 with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Athletic Coaching.
Phil Barr - Diving Coach
Coach Phil Barr is a 1980 graduate of GlenOak High School. He was born and raised in canton. He grew up swimming and diving competitively at an early age. His family owns Meadowlake Golf & Swim where he works. He began coaching diving in 1999 when his son, Justin, joined the diving team for GlenOak. He has coached several divers on other teams, as well as the University of Mount Union but, continued with GlenOak up until 2017. That same year he was asked to help with the diving program at Jackson and the divers for Perry. He has had numerous sectional qualifiers and one sectional winner. Several district qualifiers, and a few state qualifiers. His state qualifiers have placed as well as 6, 7, and 9 in the state. In 2015 his diving team, with the University of Mount Union men’s divers, won the NCAA OAC Championship’s in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. To this day he continues to coach the Jackson and Perry divers and helps with the PAC diving clinics. He resides in Plain Township with his wife Maureen. In their spare time they enjoy seeing the countryside on their motorcycle, golfing, and spending time with friends, family, and their 9 grandchildren.
Lauren Burrows - Assistant Coach
Lauren is a graduate of Grove City College where she received a degree in psychology along with a minor in communication. She spent her first two years at Chatham University where she earned one varsity letter in swimming and two in water polo. Transferring to Grove City, she completed her swimming and water polo career, receiving five varsity letters. She was also captain of the women's water polo team. Prior to her college career, she was a GlenOak High School graduate where she swam and played water polo as well.
Anna Fialko - Assistant Coach
Anna is in her fourth year as Assistant Coach. Having earned a bachelor of science in production management, she managed her family's restaurant, Lams for 25 years. She has coached the David YMCA Phantoms swim team for nine years, serving as head coach for two years. She has been a fitness instructor for eight years at Edgewood Community Center and has taught swimming lessons for ten years. In her spare time, Anna runs triathalons and mud runs at Portage Lakes and in Cleveland. She placed 1st in the super sprint class 3 years in a row. Anna resides in Jackson Township with her husband Tom and children Tyler and Allisyn.
Ryan Collins - Assistant Coach
Ryan joins the team for the third year as assistant coach. He is a graduate of Green High School and Kent State University.
